The proposal is currently being supported by West Virginia Family Foundation and the Family Policy Council of West Virginia. The groups expect the West Virginia Legislature to consider the measure for the ballot. In the last few years, similar proposals have failed to gain the required legislative approval.[1]
Path to the ballot
A two-thirds vote in both chambers of the West Virginia State Legislature is required to refer an amendment to the ballot.
