Vermont 17 year olds given the green light to vote in primaries

MONTPELIER, Vermont: Vermont voters have cast their ballots and their opinions on Proposal 5 is loud and clear. As of 8 p.m. CT voters approved the proposed measure by 82%.[1] Vermont Voting Age Amendment, Proposal 5 allows 17-year-olds to vote in the primary election provided they turn 18 before the general election.
Proposal 5 was the only certified ballot question in the state of Vermont. The measure was sponsored by Sen. Jeannette White.
