An effort to recall Verbon Muhammad from his position as a school board member of the Monroe City School Board, Louisiana, was launched in November 2011. Muhammad represents District 6. His term is set to expire in January 2015. Monroe City School Board member Clarence Sharp is also facing a recall effort.

Recall supporters

Margie Ausberry is the chairman of the recall effort and Valerie Ann Webb Johnson is vice chairman.

Path to the ballot

A formal recall petition was filed in November 2011 with Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler. Recall organizers have 180 days from November 14 to collect the signatures of one-third of the registered voters within District 6.
