An effort to recall Verbon Muhammad from his position as a school board member of the Monroe City School Board, Louisiana, was launched in November 2011.[1] Muhammad represents District 6. His term is set to expire in January 2015. Monroe City School Board member Clarence Sharp is also facing a recall effort.

Recall supporters

Margie Ausberry is the chairman of the recall effort and Valerie Ann Webb Johnson is vice chairman. [1]

Path to the ballot

A formal recall petition was filed in November 2011 with Louisiana Secretary of State Tom Schedler. Recall organizers have 180 days from November 14 to collect the signatures of one-third of the registered voters within District 6. [1]
