Voters in Connecticut will elect one member to the U.S. Senate in the November 6, 2012 elections.

The Signature requirements and deadlines for 2012 state government elections signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run is June 12, 2012. The primary elections will be held on August 14, 2012.

The election will fill the Class 1 Senate seat, which is currently held by Joe Lieberman (I). First elected in 1988, Lieberman is not running for re-election in 2012.

On November 2, 2010, Richard Blumenthal won election to the United States Senate. He defeated Linda E. McMahon (R), Warren B. Mosler (I), John Mertens (I), Brian K. Hill (I), Jeff Russel (I), Rodd Vachon (I), Jay J. Giles (I), John Traceski (I), Matthew Coleman( (I), Working Families (I) and Dave Olszta (I) in the general election.[20]
