Considered: requires further discussion
- Science or Standards
For future consideration JWilliams 17:40, 7 March 2012 (CST)
- Athletics category: recently categorized this measure - Alaska_Recreation_Centers_Bond,_Proposition_3_(1972) under athletics but I wonder if we are missing a "Recreation center" category? Any other measures like that? BaileyL 10:10, 21 March 2012 (CDT)
Considered: to be created
Considered: created
* Act of dueling
- Wisconsin Dueling and Disenfranchisement Amendment, Question 4 (April 1975) - I think we will find more ballot questions relating to the legality of dueling as we go back in history. User:JWilliams
- If this is to be implemented a different category name may be required. On our law pages we often refer to "dueling measures" which some may confusing with measures about dueling. BaileyL 13:33, 30 December 2011 (CST)
Athletics

Banking --> as a subtopic to business regulation
JWilliams 12:32, 21 February 2012 (CST)
* County and municipal governance
Since it is already there and it seems like a reasonable idea. This could also be potentially be a subcategory of "administration of government". User:JWilliams
- Sounds good! BaileyL 15:44, 3 February 2012 (CST)
* Economic development
- Rhode Island Question 4, Quonset Point/Davisville Bonds (2002) (Do you mean economic development as in "ballot measures that are designed to try to promote or sustain some level of economic activity, new jobs, etc.? If so, there are other bond measures like that, for example, Maine Job Creation Bond Act, Question 6 (1996), so that could be a good category. Leslie Graves) (Yep, that's what I had in mind. Saw a number of these in RI. - User:TylerM)
* Food and agriculture
I stubbed a measure, the Florida Genetically Engineered Food Label Amendment (2012), and it seems like this would be a good category for it.EPrem 10:33, 6 January 2012 (CST)
- I like the Food and agriculture idea. I've seen some measures relating to farming. We may also see measures regarding genetics in general in the future. JWilliams 16:29, 13 January 2012 (CST)
- To be created: Category:Food and agriculture BaileyL 15:42, 3 February 2012 (CST)
* History, Culture, and the Arts
- Rhode Island Heritage Harbor Museum Bonds, Question 5 (2000) (We should have a category like this, because there are multiple such ballot measures. Leslie Graves)
* Media
Probably would not be a huge category, but Wisconsin Public Television Advisory, Question 2 (1954) prompted the idea. Also found Utah Initiative A (1984). We could also consider expanding it further to All methods of communication. JWilliams 16:17, 13 January 2012 (CST)
- A category could be created called something like Category:CommunicationsBaileyL 15:42, 3 February 2012 (CST)
* Nuclear issues
Change Nuclear weapons/facilities/waste on the ballot to "Nuclear issues on the ballot" User:JWilliams
* Recall measures
- New Jersey Right of Recall, Public Question 1 (1993)User:JWilliams
- We currently have a category called "recall measures." You can find that here. (needs to be added to the list of topics) Is this what you were looking for? BaileyL 12:10, 30 December 2011 (CST)
State Capitals --> Maybe as a subtopic for Category:Administration of government
JWilliams 19:38, 15 February 2012 (CST)
* State executive officers measures
* Statehood
- Wisconsin Repeal of Obsolete Provisions Relating to Transition to Statehood Amendment, Question 7 (1982) As we dig back into history, we might find more amendments from states relating to their statehood. User:JWilliams
* Time standards
Change Daylight Savings Time on the ballot to "Time standards on the ballot" User:JWilliams
Considered: no further action needed
- State legislatures
measures
- None of the others have "measures" in the category. Seems redundant.
- Actually, there is "Direct democracy measures" and "Redistricting measures". More importantly, while I agree it sounds awkward, I think it was originally created to differentiate the ballot measures regarding state legislatures from the State legislature project. User:JWilliams
- Good point, should probably stay. User:TylerM
- Proposal to change Category:Animal rights to Category:Treatment of animals. BaileyL 09:07, 12 January 2012 (CST)
- Term lengths
I have come across a number of amendments relating to term lengths (2 years vs 4 years) which seems different to that Category:Term limits. For example Vermont Four-Year Terms for State Constitutional Officers (1974) JWilliams 10:32, 20 January 2012 (CST)
- The description of the category should be updated to include "term lengths"BaileyL 15:42, 3 February 2012 (CST)
- Privacy, Sexual rights, Privacy rights, or something to that effect.
I stubbed this Florida Right to Intimacy (2) (2012) and I put it under marriage and family but I believe it to be a distinct issue. If a general privacy catagory was to be implemented it could include possible issues like internet privacy and the like.EPrem 13:16, 9 January 2012 (CST)
- That measure would seem to me to be a subtopic of Category:Civil rights in particular, as well as fit into Category:Obscenity, and Category:LGBT issues JWilliams 16:29, 13 January 2012 (CST)
- I too thought it may be a subtopic of civil rights, however, it did not seem to fall into our definition of what constitutes a Civil Rights issue, but if it does then I would be happy to put it there. I do not think that it should be categorized under obscenity though, simply because it is not about what can be done in public or displayed in anyway, but in fact has to do precisely with privacy.EPrem 16:54, 27 January 2012 (CST)
- I think this fits under "civil rights." Description for "civil rights" should be updated.BaileyL 15:42, 3 February 2012 (CST)

Ballot measure deletions
I have deleted all of the ballot measures contained within these lists that are "Page does not exist" status and I've deleted the ballot measures that do not contain an outcome of the election. If one would like to put the ballot measure back on the list, please create the article for the measure and/or update the outcome of the election status.--Johnwynnejr 13:46, 5 February 2010 (CST)
This logo needs to be changed
This logo needs to be changed to a blue symbol and an orange "ISSUES" and be in the same format as "BALLOTPEDIA" is written here. I'll work it.
I don't believe that the {|bmblists}} should be to the right of the boxes of lists. Although I do believe {{bmlists}} or its contents should be at the bottom of the article.--Johnwynnejr 08:44, 8 September 2010 (CDT)
