From Ballotpedia
Jump to: navigation, search

Supermajority requirements on the ballot: This topic refers to ballot measures that ask voters if a "supermajority" vote is required of the state legislature or a public vote in order to enact certain state laws. This category should also be applied to ballot measures about whether or not a local political jurisdiction must receive a supermajority vote on a bond measure or tax measure for it to be approved. Supermajority requirements vary, such as 60% or 2/3rd majority. Supermajority requirements have been implemented to enact taxes, laws and/or constitutional amendments.
