Steve Lilly, Angela Chunka and Elizabeth Jaka recall, Vista, California (2010)
From Ballotpedia
An attempt to recall Steve Lilly, Angela Chunka and Elizabeth Jaka from their positions as trustees of the Vista Unified School District in San Diego County was launched on January 20, 2010.[1] In July, the recall effort was acknowledged to be officially dead, since recall signatures were not submitted by the statutory deadline.[2]
Supporters of the recall effort said that the three targeted trustees are "mismanaging district affairs while favoring teacher union interests." Lilly, Chunka and Jaka deny this.[1]
Jill Parvin led the recall effort.
Path to the ballot
Recall supporters had 160 days from the time that election officials approve their recall petition, or until July 28, to collect the signatures of about 9,600 registered voters in the Vista Unified School District.[1]
