At least two statewide ballot measures have been proposed for the 2012 statewide ballot in the state of South Carolina. Since only legislatively-referred constitutional amendments are allowed in South Carolina, proposals must be made during the state's legislative session. The 2011 session began on January 11 and will end on June 2.
- 2012 state legislative session began on January 11, 2012 and is scheduled to end in mid-June of 2012. Legislative referrals can be sent to the 2012 ballot during this time.

History
Since 2000, South Carolina voters have considered 21 ballot measures. Of these 21, all 17 have passed. Historically, South Carolina ballot measures have focused a wide variety of issues with tax, spending, budget issues being most common. Other notable measures include 2010's hunting amendment and 2006's traditional marriage amendment.
