Sisters School Board recall, Sisters, Oregon (2010)
A campaign to recall Christine Jones, Glenn Laskin, Jeff Smith and Cheryl Stewart from their positions as members of the school board of the Sisters School District #6 in Sisters, Oregon, was announced in February 2010.[1] The recall effort did not result in a recall election.
Michelle Williams, founder of the Sisters Academy of Fine Arts, led the recall campaign. The recall petition gave four reasons for the recall: "Poor financial management, acting outside the scope of their duties, not looking after the best interests of our children, and not looking after the best interests of our schools." Williams is also reported to be upset with the board because of the decision the board made to close the Sisters Academy of Fine Arts when its enrollment fell below 25 students.[2]
