The recall petitions were filed by local resident Dayna Cordts on September 24, 2009 in Lenawee County.

Background
Recall leader Cordts alleged that Ott and Meinke were “rude and disrespectful” to residents at a September 14, 2009 meeting. The recall petition also claimed that that the two officials made and supported a motion that alleged that Cordts violated a permit stipulation that she claims she did not apply for.[1]
Path to the ballot
Recall supporters had to collect a minimum of 98 signatures for each petition by November 20, 2009.[1]
