A recall petition was filed and approved to recall Saundra McFadden-Weaver, a city councilwoman in Kansas City, Missouri. The election took place on February 8, 2005, where the recall campaign was defeated.
Supporters of the recall effort stated that McFadden-Weaver cited missed meetings, unreturned phones calls and trust issues. According to one report, supporters stated she was "unresponsive and unethical." Proponents of recall also cited Kansas City's high crime rate and low property value during her time in council, therefore wanting different representation as soon as possible.[1]
According to Quinetta Fristoe, supporter of the recall:"Our community is the laughingstock of the districts."
