Ohio Homestead Tax Reduction for Disabled was on the November 5, 1974 statewide general election ballot in Ohio as Ohio Issue 1. It proposed to allow the state legislature to reduce real estate taxes on the homes of Ohio residents who were designated as permanently and totally disabled.

Issue 1 was referred to the ballot by the Ohio State Legislature.

  • Yes: 2,266,355 (82.1%) Approveda
  • No: 492,813 (17.9%)

Text of measure

The ballot summary said, "To permit laws reducing real estate taxes on the homesteads of permanently and totally disabled residents (Art. XII, Sec. 2)."
