Ohio Initiated Issue 1, No Taxes on Food (1936)

Ohio Issue No. 1 (1936) was a measure prohibiting the levy or collection of an excise tax on the sale or purchase of food for human consumption off the premises where sold. It passed with 68.8% of voters in favor.
