North Dakota Issue 1 statewide ballot proposition was on the 1956 primary election ballot in North Dakota as an initiated constitutional amendment, where it was approved with 51.5% of the vote.

Prior to the enactment of Issue 1, county treasurers in North Dakota's 53 counties could only serve for two terms.
