The Commissioner oversees the Insurance Department and is responsible for enforcing and executing the insurance laws of the state.
Current officeholder
The current officeholder is Roger Sevigny. He has served in this position since 2003.
Appointments
Per Title XXXVII, Chapter 400, Section 400-A:3 of the New Hampshire Statutes, the governor, with consultation from council, appoints the Commissioner of Insurance to a five-year term.[1]
Compensation
In 2009, the New Hampshire Commissioner of Insurance was paid an estimated $104,364 according to the Council of State Governments.[2]
