The measure would have increased term limits from 8 years to 16 years total in any one house of the General Assembly.[1]
Path to the ballot
In order to qualify for the ballot, the measure required approval by a majority of the members of each chamber of the Missouri General Assembly.
The Senate passed the measure following a 29-4 vote on April 28, 2011. The measure remained pending in the House.[2] As of January 12, 2012 the bill was not in queue to be heard by the General Assembly.[3]
