The Missouri Earthquake-Proofing Bonds Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment on the August 4, 1992 ballot in Missouri, where it was defeated.

Text of measure
The question asked on the ballot was:
- Allow cities, towns, villages, counties and school districts, subject to voter approval, to increase their bonded indebtedness by five percent of the value of taxable tangible property to retrofit public buildings to withstand earthquakes. There would be no direct cost. Indirect costs would depnd upon voter approval in cities, towns, villages, counties, school districts, corporations and other political subdivisions.[1]
