The Minnesota Term Limits Amendment may appear on the November 2012 ballot in Minnesota as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would impose term limits on members of the State Legislature. [1]

The amendment is sponsored by State Senators Gary Dahms and Paul Gazelka. [2]

Text of measure

The ballot language that voters would see reads as follows:

"Shall the Minnesota Constitution be amended to place limits on the number of terms of office of state legislators?"

  • YES
  • NO

Elections before 2012 must be disregarded in determining the limits imposed by the amendment. [3]

Constitutional Changes

The proposed amendment would amend section 6 to Article IV to the Minnesota Constitution. [4]
