Current officeholder
The current chair is Ellen Anderson, a former Democratic state senator. Gov. Mark Dayton appointed her to Commission on March 9, 2011.[2] Commissioners include:
Appointments
Per 216A.03 of the Minnesota Statutes, the governor appoints the public utilities commissioners to six year terms with the advice and consent of the Senate. No more than three commissioner can belong to the same party, and at least one must reside outside of the county metropolitan area.[3]
Compensation
In 2010, Minnesota Commissioners of Public Utilities were paid an estimated $88,448 according to the Council of State Governments.[4]
