The Maryland Secretary of Labor, Licensing and Regulation is a state executive position in the Maryland state government. The Secretary acts as head of the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, which was established in 1995. The Department oversees job training, unemployment insurance, as well as a number of licensing and regulatory boards.[1]

The current officeholder is Alexander Sanchez. He was appointed by Gov. Martin O'Malley in 2009.
