The Bonus for Veterans of World War II Act statewide ballot proposition was on the 1946 election ballot in Maine. It was defeated. The act would have raised taxes on cigarettes and alcohol to fund the bonus for veterans.
The act was a legislatively-referred state statute, voted onto the ballot by the Maine legislature, which described it as "An Act to Provide for the Payment of a Bonus to Maine Veterans of World War II and for the Payment of Other Veterans' Benefits and to Provide for Such Payments by Additional Cigarette and Liquor Taxes and Miscellaneous Taxes."
