| List of measures |
Alabama ballot measures come in just one of the six common varieties:
- Legislatively-referred constitutional amendment - a proposed constitutional amendment that appears on Alabama's ballot as a ballot measure because the Alabama State Legislature voted to put it before the voters. Article XVIII of the Alabama Constitution states that it takes a three-fifths (60%) vote of the Alabama State Legislature to qualify an amendment for the ballot.[1] Amendments can originate in either the House or the Senate. Notice of the fact that an election on a proposed amendment is going to take place must be published in each county of the state for at least eight successive weeks prior to the election.
