A Florida Government Accountability Amendment will not appear on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the state of Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment. If enacted this measure would have given the state legislature power over the other branches of government. The legislature would then be subject to the Florida Commission on Ethics, which would have had the authority to investigate, prosecute and penalize all state and local government officers, including judges. The amendment was introduced by Justice -2- Jesus on January 18, 2011.[1]

In order to qualify for the 2012 ballot supporters are required to collect a minimum of 676,811 valid signatures by the February 1, 2012 petition drive deadline. The petition was not submitted to the Florida Secretary of State by the deadline. [2]
