A Florida Corporate Welfare Amendment will not appear on the November 6, 2012 ballot in the state of Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment. If enacted this measure would have prohibited state and local governments from transferring funds raised by taxes to businesses unless it was for the purchase of property, goods or services, and the payment of damages and costs. The measure also prohibited tax reductions for, and selective tax treatment of, businesses. The amendment was introduced by End Corporate Welfare on February 10, 2006.[1]

In order to qualify for the 2012 ballot supporters are required to collect a minimum of 676,811 valid signatures by the February 1, 2012 petition drive deadline. The petition was not submitted to the Florida Secretary of State by the deadline. [2]
