Due to redistricting, Stearns is running in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Florida's 3rd District. Stearns is seeking the nomination on the Republican ticket.[1] He faces Steve Oelrich and Ted Yoho in the August 14, 2012 Republican primary.
Based on an analysis of bill sponsorship by GovTrack, Staerns is a "moderate Republican leader".[2]
Biography
Stearns was born in Washington, D.C. was educated at Woodrow Wilson High School, and later earned a degree in electrical engineering at George Washington University, Washington, D.C. He participated in U.S. Air Force ROTC at GW and was honored as the Air Force ROTC Distinguished Military Graduate. [3]
