JUNEAU, Alaska: Both bonding propositions on the Alaska 2010 general election ballot were approved by voters on November 2, as the only constitutional amendment was defeated by a vote of 59.53 percent to 40.47 percent. The amendment, Ballot Question 1 would have added four more representatives and two more senators to the Alaska Legislature, which currently stands at 60.

Bonding Proposition A will now allow residents in the state to decide whether to guarantee residential mortgage bonds to veterans. The revenue bonds would be issued by the Housing Finance Corporation. Bonding Proposition B will create an approximate $380 million bond package that will fund various projects in the state.
